How to pay your student housing fees
You can make a payment toward your student housing fees through the Student Housing Portal or in person at Cedar Centre.
Visit the Student Housing Portal to view your residence fees under the My Fees tab. On the My Fees tab, you can view and pay your student housing fees.
We take Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard and Mastercard Debit - both in person and on the portal. We do not take cash, wire transfer, e-transfer or internet banking bill payments.
Room rates
Student Housing fees vary by student housing area and room type. All fees are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Student Housing Agreement. Rates may be subject to change without notice.

Dining plan with VIU Food Services
A dining plan is a great way to make sure you have a budget dedicated to your food while you're with us. As long as you have your student card, you can purchase food from most areas on campus.
Students in all room styles can access the VIU Food Services Dining Plan. A plan can be purchased for a semester or for a full academic year. Choose between the Medium and Full Appetite plans.

Early move-in for Trades students
For Trades programs that begin on August 25, there is early move-in on August 24, 2026 (applicable to Academic Year and Fall move-ins).
Want to move in early or move out late?
To move in early or move out late, you must make a formal request to VIU Student Housing billed at $30 per night.
Important notes
- Failure to pay any student housing fees by any posted or emailed deadline will result in the forfeiture of your room assignment.
- Charges will continue until all assigned keys are returned to the front desk. Cancellations and early-move outs are subject to the cancellation charges outlined in the Student Housing Agreement.
