Larger packages of mail will be kept in a pick-up area in the main Cedar Centre office, so if you receive confirmation of a delivery just ask a front desk staff member to check if your item has arrived.

Laundry
There are multiple laundry machines located in Cedar Centre (building #4). There are two payment options for laundry facilitated through Coinamatic:

- You may purchase a laundry card for $10, which you can load on a machine outside of the laundry room in Cedar Centre. This machine accepts debit and credit cards
- You may download the Coinamatic app. The app requires a VISA or MasterCard credit or debit card.
We ask that you remove your laundry from machines soon after the machine is finished, so everyone can find a machine to use.
VIU Security
For immediate danger like a fire, gas leak or serious injury call 9.1.1. first.
VIU Security is available to help with many situations. Contact security if:
- you want an escort on campus because you don’t feel comfortable travelling alone.
- you witness behaviour that the safety of anyone in Student Housing
- you have concerns about the well-being of a resident or the property
VIU Security Emergency is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Parking
If you plan to have a vehicle here you must purchase a VIU Parking Permit through Indigo. All guests and visitors must purchase parking. There is no free visitor parking or assigned parking spaces. VIU Student Housing does not manage parking at Student Housing or on campus.
Equipment loans
You can borrow recreational items like a volleyball, basketball or soccer ball. Games like Monopoly or Jenga are also available at the Cedar Centre. Bring your student ID or your housing keys to sign out an item at the front desk.
Lost items
If there are any items missing feel free to contact or go to Cedar Centre to bring up a concern. Although, residents must be accountable for their own personal items and Student Housing is not responsible for items that are missing, stolen, etc. Therefore, we recommend not leaving valuable items in your common room or any accessible areas that are not locked, as your room is the safest spot for items.
